With summer right around the corner, everyone is busy getting their eating schedules in order and their body’s trim for the beach…except cats. Cats are a perfect example about being comfortable in your own skin and enjoying the finer things in life - plus, they don’t really like the beach. That is why we have created a video of a quick tuna cat treat recipe you and the family can have fun making! It is super simple and the results are ameowzing! For an extra kick, feel free to add a pinch of catnip to the mixture!

Check out the video here!

In case the video went by too quickly, here is the full recipe, which can also be found at MessforLess

Ingredients:

1 can tuna, drained

1 egg

1 1/4 cups of flour, plus extra for dusting

1/2 cup water

Dash of parsley

Directions:

  1. Warm that oven up to 350F!

  2. In a nice big bowl (or food processor) mix flour, egg, parsley, tuna and water and form into a consistent dough. The dough should be a little more on the drier side in order not to stick to your kitchen equipment (and paws).

  3. Dust workbench with flour and roll out dough.

  4. Using a sharp knife (get your parents to help you with this one if need be), cut the dough into 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch morsels.

  5. Line onto a foil or parchment paper lined baking tray.

  6. Throw into the oven for 20 minutes or until lightly golden!

  7. Allow to cool and let the kitties feast!

As you can see in the video our boys Harvey and Zac went crazy for the treats and still stare at the treat-filled jar each and every day! Imgur

Let us know if your kitties enjoyed the treats and what other goodies you’d love to see us make in the future!
