For every meowbox sold, meowbox donates a can of cat food, or monetary equivalent to a shelter or rescue. This month, we donated to the Animal Care Centers of New York City.

The Animal Care Centers of New York City (NYCACC) have a mission: to end animal homelessness in NYC.

With one branch in every borough of the city, their team is committed to finding loving forever homes for all of the stray and abandoned animals who come through their doors, and providing resources to pet owners who need them.

With NYC being so heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, NYCACC’s work is now more important than ever. They are continuing to provide services to the public by appointment and offer free online advice on how to prepare for your pet’s care in case of an emergency, how to access veterinary help while self-isolating, and more.

With many becoming hospitalized or losing their jobs due to social distancing measures, The NYCACC foresees that they may see large volumes of surrendered pets due to severe illness or financial hardship. As an independent nonprofit organization, NYCACC depends on community support to continue providing their services, especially during these uncertain times.
