Introducing Every Cat-Loving Foodie's New Favourite Instagram

Published by

It’s true—Instagram loves kitties. There’s certainly no shortage of feline-related accounts out there, which is why when a particularly creative cat Instagram sneaks under our radar, we can’t resist finding out more.

Such was the case with the endlessly entertaining and undeniably genius @cats_in_food.

By day, Russian artist Ksenia works as an illustrator and freelance image editor; by night, she creates meowsterpieces like these:

Not only does she manage to combine everyone’s two favourite Instagram categories (cats and food? Yes, please), but there’s something weirdly cute about a cat photoshopped onto a potsticker.

A cat lover herself, Ksenia was inspired by the Instagram @princesscheeto, which integrates photoshop and feline photography. She had never seen anything like @cats_in_food, so she decided to take the leap and start her own Instagram account.

Her first post in January 2018 was her own cat, six-and-a-half-month-old Smokey, dozing inside a cheeseburger. The photo is now the profile picture of her Instagram account.

Hello and welcome 😻

If you, like us, are dying to see what your cat would look like photoshopped onto your favourite food, Ksenia accepts requests via direct message on Instagram and charges $5 per image.

Here are our office cats, Zac and Harvey, retouched by Ksenia’s brilliant handiwork:

Could Zac and Harvey be hinting at this month’s meowbox theme? Maaaaybe.
