Cat Chic Week 10: Vivian Perkins

Published by

TGI Caturday! With so much going on in your personal lives and the world at large, we hope you’re taking this day to rest, rejuvenate and lose yourself in the warm comfort of a purring ball of fur. Never underestimate the healing power of a well-timed kitty snuggle; sometimes the simplest medicine works best.

Today we’re featuring a vivacious, energetic, stereotype-defying cat lover named Vivian Perkins. Vivian lives with two cats named Coco and Sazerac whose cuteness has attracted a healthy Instagram following of more than 24 thousand admirers. With a penchant for wearing bowties and an assortment of head adornments, these kitties know how to work the camera.

Vivian calls Louisiana home but has a love for travel and adventure. Determined to create positive change in the world, she volunteers as the Donor Relations Coordinator for the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, an organization that aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures. When we met at CatCon LA, Vivian seemed very outgoing, friendly and passionate about living life to the fullest. And so we asked her the same old question: Some people think that cat people are crazy, introverted, and nerdy. How are you different?

“I’m completely different. In my everyday life I’m a sales rep, so I travel - I have to go in and talk to people all the time, I have to give presentations. I’m kind of the opposite of what people would think a cat person is.”

There you have it: cat lady stereotype debunked! In this case anyway. Another example of how taking tons of photos of your adorable kitties doesn’t mean they’re your only friends and you don’t like people. But we’re willing to bet that after a day of presentations and meetings, a cuddle pile with Coco and Sazerac is exactly what this cat loving gal craves.
