Cat Chic Week 14: Ray and Dustin, Milla's Parents

Published by

Welcome back cat lovers, and happy Caturday! With less than a week to go until Christmas, we at meowbox would like to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and happy holidays! We hope you get a chance to snuggle up with your favourite people (human and otherwise), stuff your face with delicious food and unplug from the craziness of real life. Bring on the figgy pudding and gingerbread – you’ve earned it.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray and Dustin, a couple of dashing gentlemen who have the most adorable cat named Milla. Named after Milla Jovovich, she’s a beautiful gray Scottish Fold with the loveliest, most heart-melting eyes you’ve ever seen. Judging by her 304k Instagram followers, we’re not alone in being obsessed with her. Sadly, this stunning lady suffers from Congestive Heart Failure, a terminal condition that will require life-long medical treatment. At only 3.5 years of age, Milla’s heart is working in overdrive and growing larger by the day. Dustin and Ray are doing the best they can to provide Milla with the best possible care, which includes several daily medications, frequent checkups and special food. Because the bills add up quickly, they’ve started a fundraising page to help cover the costs of her ongoing treatment. Check it out to make a donation and receive updates on her condition.

Ray and Dustin

In addition to being loving cat dads (they were both wearing Milla t-shirts), Dustin and Ray came across as cool, social and fun-loving. They didn’t seem to embody the traditional cat person stereotype, but in order to be sure we had to ask: cat people are often considered to be crazy, introverted and anti-social – how are you different?

Dustin: “We are a little crazy, there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Ray: “I will say that if cat people are crazy, it’s a good crazy, because Milla was diagnosed last year with heart disease and all her crazy friends got together and helped pay for her medical bills. So if cat people are crazy, then that’s a great thing.”

There’s nothing more beautiful than a bunch of crazy people banding together to help a furball in need. Thanks, Dustin and Ray, for taking such great care of beautiful Milla and sharing her with the world. And a big thank you to all you crazies out there for being awesome. Feliz Navidad everyone!
